Photo set includes the Ike impact area starting in Galveston, and Bolivar and ending in Sabine Pass. Hurricane Ike, an extraordinarily large storm, came ashore centered at Galveston, TX on September 13, 2008, with Bolivar taking its right-front quadrant and the brunt of the destruction. Port Arthur and Sabine Pass, just west of the Louisiana border, were already in distress before Ike after having taken the center of Hurricane Rita in 2005. Despite construction on a local high school at Sabine Pass, no one appeared to be living in the town as of September 2009. Click on any thumbnail to view the larger image.
